The Interference Effect

Some studies find that doing cardio or endurance training alongside strength training in the same program can reduce strength development, power development and muscle growth. The interference effect is a result of trying to push your body into the two different ends of the strength and endurance continuum. It's probably not as much of a concern as people thought, say, five years ago. And it's a concern that we cannot remedy with sprinting.
