Is There a Crisis of Faith?

I told Jeff that in writing the essay for this book, I had a crisis of faith. And then we can go to the super rational transcendence as well. We assume that my being happy is the ultimate good, whereas maybe God doesn't want me to be happy. Maybe there's some greater nishama type thing that's better for me in the long run. If I'm not happy, maybe there's something which I'm supposed to accomplish in terms of building myself as a human being. That's John Higg calls that soul making the honest.
