The Neurological Manifestations of Herpes Simplex
The classic limbic, you know, mesial temporal extending into the insula and then into the cingulate and frontal basal system is pretty common. A couple of other neurological manifestations of herpes simplex are recurrent herpes-associated aseptic meningitis and myeloridiculitis. With Vericella's ouster, there can be variable presentations in the setting of viral reactivation. And that has an eponymous term, which we sometimes see called Ellsberg syndrome.
