The Politics of the by-Elections

There has been a lot of tactical voting to try and get past the first pass-to-post system. The Lib Dem candidate in Summerton and Froome said, thank you to Labour and Green Party voters who have lent me your votes to beat the Conservatives. And I think similarly in Selby, it appears to be that people who didn't want the Conservatives to win have rallies behind Labour. Now whether or not that again translates to a general election, who knows? There's a lot of talk last time about parties sort of quietly standing aside for each other in order to beat the Conservative last time around. It seems to be that voters are taking it on themselves to do that.
