The Problems With MIDI Polyphonic Expression
All synthesizers communicate with controllers like keyboards or by instrument that control through this standard called MIDI, which is either a cable or it's just a protocol sent over USB or other things. If you send something, a signal from a MIDI keyboard to a synthesizer and you use the little knob on the side of the keyboard called Pitch Bin, it is forced to bend all notes that you're playing at the same time. It can't just bend one of those notes. And so that causes a problem because it means you cannot have independent pitch bend for two different touches on an expressive device.
