The CTRA, my colleague over at UCLA, Stephen Cole, did a lot of work on this. This is actually a stress danger response. It's a gene complex that's in your body. Now we don't have to worry about saber to tigers anymore. However, if our body perceives stress such as somebody cutting you off on the freeway, such as an argument with a spouse, such as resenting somebody who's hurt you creates the same state inyour body. And his research demonstrates that there's an increase in inflammation and drop in immunity. When this thing is chronically activated, it leads the chronic diseases like Alzheimer's, like cancer, like metastatic disease, like infections
