i'm puzzled by the current am culture of academi i don't know where thay came from. When i was in the states, there was arise in the religious rigt and you couldn't talk about god issues. I could have wasted my time trying to argue with people, but as a scientist, i thought, not. It's better just take a long view of it and collect the data and hope that it stays in empirical science. The other thing that's come along, that's been huge in the last 20 years is the diana revolution.
