"We were just gradually increasing the complexity of the game naturally as you had more features and so um pretty early on we realized oh man we can't do this," he says. "It affected every aspect of the game's design where you had different types of floor tiles that we would want to do but honestly how do you show those tiles underneath an enemy while there's emerging?" He adds: "Anything that would cause that many questions of how to display it uh had to get cut"
