The Importance of Forests in the DRC

According to the World Factbook, the DRC has an estimated population of around 112 million and is on a trajectory to reach 200 million people by 2050. Adams: "A forest is not maintained by humans. We all know that the forest that we currently have is not because we put it there" He says for us to be able to leverage the pressure that the local population is applying on this forest, we've got to have alternatives which are going to look after these humans while the forest tries for itself.
