The Brain as a Predictive Machine

The brain is an enormously complex object, it defies any kind of intuition. People have always reached for a dominant technologys as the metaphor. The way i started to think about it, and certainly was not my original idea s it's built on a very long tradition in philosophy and then in psychology. And if we start with perception, so one of the main jobs of the brain is to perceive both the y and the world,. So that the body can act the organism can act within the world. What we perceive isn't a redoubt of sensory data, it's a it's a top down best guess, a projection, a hypothesis, a prediction about the causes of sensory signals
