The Postmodernist View of Writing
The writers, they just, they, we want our stories to have thread between them. It's the sort of postmodernist view of writing where there's this belief that well, classical tropes like the hero's journey are no longer valid and so they have to be deconstructed. A deconstructed view would say, well, they'll get to like Z and then decide that getting to B was never that important in the first place. And it brings me on to the one of the other big annoyances I have, the deconstructed hero. Nothing pisses me off more about a story than we're going to go back to this old franchise, right, that you loved as a kid
