The Hittites and the Misonean Empire

The hittites had a lot of respect for the misoneans and their power. It does seem unlikely that the misenians played any part in the ultimate downfall of the hitite empire, not least of all because the misenean empire was also in decline at this stage. From around 12 50 b c e, onwards, it appears that many misenian cities had been subject to attack. The assyrians re established a form of self governance after the death of hamarabi, and remained quite healthy until the fourteenth century.
