Horned rabbits are depicted all over the world in art from nearly every continent and in natural history. The horned rabbit is even invoked in early buddhist texts as a way to talk about the very nature of reality. Most of what we know about the existence of horned rabbits is thanks to a pioneering bierologist named richard schop. Schop has two living children, but neither could do an interview for this story.
The magical mythical "jackalope" is a essentially a horned rabbit, with antlers of different sizes and shapes. The jackalope is a mascot of the American West – inspiring an absolute river of trinkets and songs and whiskies and postcards and tall tales.
