God's Unconditional Election

God addresses Moses's fear that the badness of the people will ruin the covenant. God does not point to the people's lack of goodness, but he points to his own goodness. He is utterly free to choose whom he will as recipients of his mercy with no external constraints. The Reformers are known for saying, solely deo gloria.
