The Persian invasion of Greece led to the Thermopylae. The Persians took over dozens of Greek city states before they got to Attica. They were outnumbered at least two to one by a fleet of 350 triremes. But Greeks decided to fight in the Bay of Salomans, even though they were outnumbered.
