Lamentations Chapter 3 - Acrostic Pattern
Like the chapters that precede it, Lamentations chapter 3 has an acrostic pattern. The unity of the chapter is most readily apparent in the tightness of its literary structure. Within the chapter, there are a number of changes and points of view. It begins with the first person's singular speech in verses 1 to 24; moves to third person masculine speech in verses 25 to 39,. then to first person plural speech in verses 40 to 47 before reverting to first person'ssingular speech in verses 48 to 66.
