CHAPTER

The Economic and the Cultural Models of Discontent

One thing I think is a great feature of this book for people to assign it to students, to read it themselves even if they're not directly in the fields of the three authors is the way in which you stop and define things in these careful, clear, nuanced ways. So the economic model is it's pretty simple it's just globalization plus economic crisis the benefits of globalization are broadly distributed but harms are more concentrated in specific groups typically sort of low skilled manual laborers people in America. The cultural model what do they look like and what kind of methods do people usually use to to study them? You know is it more macro is it more micro what those two other views look like.
