The Corinthian guilds were a system of vocational diversity in the Roman Empire. They also worshiped one of the Roman gods, which led to drunken debauchery and sexual immorality. With this in mind we get to hear these words from Paul: "I say this, I, not the Lord" It's full of so many good little tasty little bitles.
