The Power of Mindless Subagents
Tasks that seem simple are often masking enormous computational complexity. Marvin Minsky suggested that human minds perhaps were collections of enormous numbers of machine-like mindless subagents that collaborate. So the key idea is that a bunch of small specialized workers can give rise to something like a society with all kinds of rich properties that no subagent has by itself.
