The Power of Reading
The final pages of In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust gave me a feeling of awe. Despite a lifetime of reading, I cannot honestly say that I've ever experienced awe as a result of reading something. There are works that have been so influential and Freud even so influential that it takes my breath away.
