Is Michigan an Art or a Lay Anti-Choice?
In Michigan, a ballot initiative enshrined abortion rights in the Constitution of the state of Michigan won overwhelmingly 60-40 there. So that speaks to your point, your opponent was an art and lay anti-choice. She thought a 14-year-old raped by an uncle was, in her words, a perfect example of someone who should not be able to make a choice to terminate a pregnancy. And so I shared my story that as a rape survivor, had I been impregnated, I would not have been able to get the abortion care that I would have wanted. That really made a huge impact.
