Cognitive Illusions and Perceptual Impenetrability

Cognitive illusions can be hard to unthink, even when you know they're fallacious. Psychologists have also noticed that perceptual ill s are cognitively impenetrable. Conscious knowledge of what you're really seein or hearing doesn't make them go away. They are not signs of stupidity, but by products of simple ways of thinking which provide a good guess in natural circumstances,. But can be fooled when they work outside their comfort zone.
