Sudan is no global issue that cannot be reduced to an argument between European countries. Germany and France, it gives Britain of hampering their efforts to extract civilians. They've been complaints from Sudanese people whose passports were locked in Western countries. So even though Europe is, I guess we can fairly say, scaled back its involvement in areas such as Sudan.
