The Beatitudes and the Blessings
Blessed are the poor in spirit, says Jesus. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. If you're spiritually poor, my kingdom is open to you. You can come in and you look at Jesus' ministry. The people who really were considered the sinners and the tax collectors, the spiritually poor, those who no one would look at as like spiritual giants of their day,. they were flocking to Jesus and coming to Jesus.
