The best place to start, I suspect for most people, would be the mere Christianity. It's based on a series of broadcast talks that he gave over BBC radio during the Second World War. Lewis didn't know exactly who would be listening to him. So he kept things very general, very accessible. He made his ideas clear and plain - it's a brilliant work apart from anything else.
