Kavorkian: I don't have a problem with someone spending time in an nihilistic stage. My worry is that some will be so hopeless that at least some do end up taking their life. He says he experienced it like a cocoon, meaning it was a process. It's part of caterpillars in cocoons literally digest themselves to become butterflies. But if you poke a hole into them, they don't get to the butterfly point.
