The Culture Industry Is a Propaganda Machine

The culture industry serves the same purpose as a propaganda machine in a totelitarian society. Marcusa would say that it's not a coincidence that these products created to deliver the news to people oftentimes use the same sort of tactics used in propaganda campaigns throughout history. These are products being sold to people that are designed to validate a limited world view, but never require people to do the actual work of challenging their beliefs on things and understanding the world at a deeper level.
