Tommy le jos's character, like you said, doesn't really have an ideological motivation. He is resentful against the military for, as he says, trying to kill him. So he wants to strike back for that reason. But otherwise, he's just got to make money as well. And there's something, i mean, there'something very nineties about that, right? Sort of the nineties as an era of the end of ideological conflicts,. and every one just trying to he can make a buck.
