In louisiana and florida, there's alligator farms that people will buy alligator meat. In south carolina, where i'm doing my research, people apply for hunting permits annually to hunt alligator and consume the meat. The definitely is more common than you would think. I did not like it when i had it was very fishy when i had alligator jerky. But from everyone else ive talked to, i said, it tastes like chicken. So, oh, no. Tase like chicken.
