Is Russia Planning an Invasion?
In the past few russia has been simultaneously ramping up shelling in these disputed regions and seeming to lay the groundwork for a larger invasion. To do that, they're staging false flag attacks. These are incidents designed to look like provocations from ukrane that demand a russian response. What we haven't seen is the ukranian military making concerted efforts to respond to this violence. i think what they really don't want to do is make the mistake that georgia made in two thousand eight and take some action that would give a russia pretext for an all out invasion.
