The Devotion of the Early Church

Luke describes Peter's first sermon at Pentecost. He ends his appeal by saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation" The lexicon points out that generation in this passage is denoting the common characteristics of a group of people. In other words, Peter seems to be instructing those listening that the devotion of the current generation was producing crooked people.
