Theressa line that stuck with me when i first read it that goes like, verbatim, marxism exists in the nineteenth century like a fish in water. It can't breathe anywhere else. And remind you, this is 19 66, almost a decade before the guleg archipelago was released or translated into french. So clearly, within french intellectual life, there was criticism of marxism before salgenien's text,. which should raise some alarm bells as to how french intellectuals were characterized as undergoing some kind of sismic shift in the early seventies.
