Before the prophet mohammed begins having visions and giving sermons, arabia was truly a fringe area. People maintained their safety and security by adhering close to tribal and clan groups with sort of strong men leaders that could protect their sub ats. There was very frequent raiding and pillaging back and forth among these various tribal groups. So how did this begin? And how do the roots of this new civilization and its new doctrines a shape the life of hundreds of millions of moslems down through the ages since then?
