Do You Know Who Is Your Husband?

"A healed mind is relieved of the belief that it must plan," Jesus says in A Course in Miracles. Still, all of us have been raised with the notion that if you want to be a successful functioning human being, a successful functioning citizen, you have to plan for the future, and if you can get good at planning, you will be MORE successful.

In a later part of the text, called Beyond Idols, there is a very famous section where Jesus asks, What is an idol? Do you think you know? And he goes on to say, "An idol is for more of something. It does not matter, more of what." So MORE is the concept, is the idol. So when you want more of anything, even an event or an experience or more of an object or more of an image, it doesn't really matter MORE of what, you are not in the moment. You are not in the contentment of the holy instant.
