Russian influence is still quite prominent in a lot of policy making circles. Russia has been able to capitalise on this very anti-Western, Euro-sceptic view. In Serbia, it indicates that the Kremlin is interested in bolstering ties in Serbia, but as well as the region too. There are still so many politicians in the region that you can see that just have close ties with Russia.
