The History of Space Travel

The series of events that first saw humans go to the moon really kicked off in 19 57. It spooked many from the soviet union's main cold war rival, the united states. The then us President, john f. Kennedy, laid down this challenge: 'This nation should commit itself to achieving the goal before this decade is out' That was in 19 61. And just a little over eight years later, on the twentieth of july 19 69, the united States met that challenge when apollo 11 touched down on the moon and humans walked on its surface for the first time.
