The Advantages and Disadvantages of Disinformation
A world in which the Kremlin and other authoritarian states can act with impunity requires a weak, de-consolidated West. This is why these disinformation efforts seek to boost nativist anti-democratic voices on both sides of the ideological divide. It's about weakening democratic cohesion from within. And there are two sets of conditions that also make us more vulnerable to these types of attacks.
