Is It a Hype Cycle or a Secular Pattern?

GPT-3 and the associate things it enables has been a real breakthrough, right? It was like something we've seen a ton of AI progress in the past decade. I think there's still some fundamental research challenges to make additional transformative changes to the capabilities beyond what is already there. But for every dollar you put into fundamental R&D, you get more than a dollar out of value which turns these things into into money engines.
