How Did You Come to Work on Pandemics and Biosecurity?
Jussie started his career with an interest in antimicrobial resistance and pandemics. He then moved further down the spectrum to focus on more catastrophic risks such as engineered biology, he says. Joshua now works for the future of humanity Institute here in Oxford where he focuses on biosecurity issues including antibiotic resistant superbugs. The pair have been working together at Georgetown University's Center for Global Health Science and Security since 2013. They are also part of a team that is developing new antibiotics which we've talked about today.
