The Undiscovered Missing Link
Dubois named this creature Anthropopithecus as the skull was accompanied by a tooth similar to one found in India over 10 years previous. Dubois believed this to be too ape-like to be passed off as the missing link and therefore continued his search. Further searching revealed a fossilised thigh bone of an upright individual. He determined that this upright walking individual with a brain capacity midway between modern humans and modern apes was now actually the missing link for human evolution. Ujendobois had cracked the code. Now Dubois decided that it was time to use it and he championed himself as the man to solve the mystery.
