The wagner group started off as a rag tag of middle aged men who couldn't adjust to civilian life or pay the bills. They are now subject to information warfare, both coming from the side of russia for the sake of avoiding casualties and telling their own population that they are having all kinds of success in foreign countries. For leadership who fear domestic outrage, if young conscripts come back in body bags, it suggests battle hard mercenaries are doing the fighting instead.
