What Is the Causal Factor in Generating Consciousness?

Chat is connected through layers of a neural network and this transformer architecture. And it doesn't have these kinds of physical structures that the human brain has. So from a scientific perspective, if you think that the causal factor in generating consciousness is this kind of physical wave, and like something like chat GPT does not have that structure, then you would predict that GPT is not conscious. But then you can also look not from first principles, just like observe GPT's behavior. And it don't seem to be conscious.
