The Over-Representation of Women in Bachelor's Degrees and Doctorates

In 2009, 57% of all bachelor's degrees in the US were awarded to females. In science and engineering fields, it was exactly 50-50,. So in science and engineering as a whole, at least at the bachelor level, women are not underrepresented. At the doctorate level, as we've seen, they are slightly underrepresented. The pattern is broadly similar over the bachelor's and doctorate degrees? I think it's broadly similar across other countries as well.
