The Importance of Understanding Myths
Ian says the idea that our minds are genetically or psychologically inclined towards certain essential myths, stories or metaphors is not true. Peterson thinks there's a major advantage to being aware of these myths if we can understand other people psychology and history. We might have an impression about the way things are, but that doesn't mean it's true so just because our minds may be inclined to view the world as order versus chaos or masculine versus feminine energy does not mean this is true.
