The Sleeping Habits of the Victorian Age

Built by carpenter Jonas Vosberg, it was one of the largest beds in the country. The oak frame is richly carved with a ribbon motif and mythical creatures like fawns and satas. It comfortably accommodated up to four couples at a time. People didn't just share beds with their families or fellow travellers. Young unmarried couples often spent the night in the same bed in a courtship ritual known as bundling.
