What Happens to Jesus at His Baptism?

In Matthew's gospel, Jesus is baptized at the Jordan River. The heavens are open and the Holy Spirit descends on him as he goes in to baptize all nations. This evokes imagery that Jews would have associated with the Old Testament. And we can also see Jesus revealing to us what happens to us when we receive the sacrament of Baptism.
