While the officers were escorting Sharon to their car Peter grabbed all his implements of murder and scurried off to throw them behind an oil storage tank. Sutcliffe's face almost perfectly matched the photo fit given by Maureen long So the cops rightly went back to see what Sutcliffe might have been doing in the moment He disappeared from the officer's site back at the arresting And almost immediately the officer found Peter's ball peen hammer and knife. The Yorkshire Ripper was finally in police custody over five years after he'd committed his first murder.
