The Role of the Hippocampal Cortical Loop in Learning

In the recommendation architecture, one of the things that Andrew talks about is a resource management by a hippocampal cortical loop. And understanding how these components interact to do things like bootstrap a priori knowledge and learn new things without forgetting old things are very important for AGI. So if you wanted to do that in a computer, an easy way would be just to keep a list of which neurons fired at the same time. But what we're doing is taking a system with one, two, eight or 10,000 processors and we're getting it to emulate a system with millions, billions or trillions of neurons.
