The fun part of the learning curve is in the middle, she says. Give people stretch assignments and don't back away from those things that are hard for them to do every day. There are some folks who may not want those kinds of stretch assignments because they're comfortable in their roles. But what they really want is to come to work, do really good work every day and then go home.
