I didn't grow up in an entrepreneurial family or a real estate family at all. I quickly realized there's a difference in income and a difference in lifestyle depending on what kind of lawyer you are. My dad is actually a lawyer by trade, but he works for the state of Wisconsin for 40 years. And as it went, my uncle Brian was doing some development. He actually here in the Minneapolis area at that time. It was one of those moments where we just hit it off on the phone.
